LINK OF THE WEEK

A new way to be inspired….
This a new and exciting verion of an inspiration board. I created this STYLE FILE using a website called POLYVORE.com It is a fun way to collect clips of colors, updated fashion, themes, accessories, decor and put them together in a fun and unique way. There is only one item to download and they will do the rest, then as you are browsing your favorite websites if you see something you LOVE you click the button on your tool bar and fill out a bit of info about who what where then your done. It will save it in your POLYVORE account as an individual (CLICKABLE) photo, which you can then use to build as many inspirations boards as youd like. It can really help you fine tune a the little nitty-gritty details of your wedding. This is one that I was playing with for one of my brides MAGGIE, but after we met yesterday, we are going to switch up the colors a little. So… back to the drawing board! YEAH! cause this way it is actually funner than it was before. Go to their site and try them out, you will love it!

New Color Concepts

Hunter Green, Dusty Pink, and Cream: a nostalgic color combo that is both down to earth, while remaining soft and feminine. I love the idea of the men in Dark Charcoal suits with Hunter green vests and “driving caps” to match. The ladies would also look lovely in Hunter Green with Blush pashmina and small hand tied bouquets of baby roses. For the Bride, accents of vintage lace and possible an antique cameo adorning a ribbon styled chocker could polish off the look quite nicely!

An EVENT of a Different Color

I had a client ask me if there are colors that should NEVER be used together for an event. I thought for a few moments and a few of the “holiday-styled” color pallates came to mind. Orange and Black (halloween) Red and Green (christmas) and Pink and Red (valentines) But then ideas started snowballing in my head of how you could take the “OH-no’s” and turn them in “WOW-yes’s” I came up with a few different looks that I really grew to love, and I wanted to share them. The experience showed me that with an open mind you can put any color mix together and have it turn out amazing! If you have a color challenge that you want a bit of help with let us and know and we will post a few ideas for you. Check back soon for a new “STYLE FILE” challenge.

The SEASON SHUFFLE...a tricky transistion

It is that magic time of year when the days begin to get a bit shorter.  What does that mean for those that are planning an upcoming event?  In short,  it is the perfect time of year to begin adding deep fall colors into your color palatte. The key is to pair luxurious and rich tones with without going into full blown HARVEST MODE. Check a few of our FAVY color pairings and how to put them together successfully.

SHIFT PICK’s #1   GRAPE, AVACADO and CARAMEL

Yes, it may sound like an interesting heath drink, but this grouping can LOOK quite tasty!

Browns and Greens are back, whether in the form of Chocolate & Apple or Mocha & Lime

the combination has always complimented each other successfully!

BUT….as usual we wanted to mix it up a bit…..

THE CANDY BAR from an archived copy or MARTHASTEWART WEDDINGS was the inspiration for this STYLE FILE

We decided that the Punch of LULU’s GRAPE and Chartreuse GREEN Bridesmaid Dresses really gave an already popular pairing a bit or pizzazz! Also the jewelry we found on LuLu’s site brought a vintage feel to the overall look.

By sticking with delicate jewelry in a matte gold, it gives the bright colors support without stealing the show.
